Stu performs as first tenor in Short Back and Sides. Along with the other members of the quartet, Stu is a graduate of the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music, completing his Bachelor of Music majoring in Voice in 2004. He has performed in a wide range of musical theatre and opera productions. Most recently he performed the romantic principle role of Camille De Rossillion in Newcastle Festival Opera’s The Merry Widow. Some of Stu’s previous roles include Uncle Archie in the Secret Garden, Anthony in Sweeny Todd, Marius in Les Miserable and Will Parker in Oklahoma.  In 2000 and 2002 he toured the UK and France with the other members of Short Back and Sides as part of the multi-award winning University of Newcastle Chamber Choir. The choir sang live on BBC radio, in St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey and Notre Dame Paris. Stu regularly sings as part of Sydney ensemble ENCORE, performing on P&O Cruises in Asia, Australia and the Pacific, he is also lead singer for Newcastle band, Sweet Light Crude. Stu is Music Director and Young Adults Pastor at the Grainery Christian Network and teaches voice and guitar at St Phillips Christian College, The Dynamic Alternative Learning Environment and Dreambox Performing Arts School.
